NO CALL OUT CHARGE!
...if your question is not listed below, please call or email us for help and free advice.
How does it work?
Do you charge by the hour, the day or provide a quote for the entire job?
All three; it depends on the nature of the work.
If the job will take less than a day, we will charge a hourly rate.
If a job is relatively straightforward and will clearly take longer than a day, and possibly several weeks, we will provide a fixed price quote to do the work. We'll use our judgment during your initial call to assess how long the work will take and mutually agree when the work can start.
It is not always possible to determine the true extent of the work involved from our initial call. Due to unforseen problems encountered when dealing with home repairs, the job may take longer or shorter than originally estimated. On occasions, only when the work has begun can we assess what is involved. If, for example, you want a bathroom wall retiled, the original estimate will cover the cost of removing and replacing the old tiles. However, once the tiles have been removed we may discover that the plaster also needs replacing. In this case, you will be given a revised estimate on site before any further work is done. Or, if you prefer, we will charge you a daily rate until the work is complete.
Once we have made the initial visit to assess the work involved, we'll calculate a total cost. We will telephone you with the price and confirm in writing.

Contact us, by phone or email, and let us know what you need doing. We deal with each job individually and may be able to give you an idea of the cost over the phone, but in order to give you an accurate cost we will probably need to visit you. Visits can be done in the evening or at the weekend so that you don't have to take time off work. However, this is not always the case for smaller jobs (i.e. those that take less than a day) where we might be able to book a convenient time to carry out the work when you make your initial enquiry.
Do I have to wait in all day?
No, we will agree a time with you. If we experience any delays we will phone you straight-away to let you know. This rarely happens.
What are your working hours?
Generally we work from 8am to 5pm on Monday to Friday. However, we are willing to work longer hours and the occasional weekend if needed.
How many jobs do you work on at once?
We focus on one job at a time. We will stay with you until our work is finished and will not move between jobs.
Who provides the materials?
You are responsible for sourcing and buying the larger items such as kitchen units, bathroom sanitaryware and related assessories, plus any decorative items such as tiles or wallpaper. For what after all is a personal choice/decision there are so many different styles and such a wide price range that it's impossible for us to provide this service. However, we are happy to supply any basic materials needed for the job, such as plaster, fixtures and fittings, plumbing and electrical supplies etc. These are supplied at cost price and supported by receipts.
Should I speak to you first, before buying anything?
How much does your service cost?
Local day rate = from £150 for a full day
Hourly rate = first hour £35, and £25 per hour thereafter
There is no call-out fee.
Does this include materials?
No, prices are for labour only. Any additional materials needed will be charged at cost price, as supported by receipts. We do not charge a surcharge for this service.
Are there any additional costs?
Yes, if possible, then we can advise you on the design and layout that will work best for you. You could make an expensive mistake by misjudging what is possible within the space.
I am very fussy and like to be involved in every decision, is this ok?
Our working style is not to make assumptions on your behalf. We will happily involve you and ask your preference at each stage of the process.
Are you insured?
Any parking or congestion charge costs will be charged to each individual job. On occasions, it will be necessary to charge for the disposal of waste.
Do your prices include VAT?
